LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Michelle Williams (news), best known for
her role in the hit WB series "Dawson's Creek (news - Y! TV)," has been cast
as the female lead in the new film from indie auteur Wim Wenders (news).

The untitled project, from IFC's InDigEnt banner, begins production this
week in Los Angeles with John Diehl as the male lead and Richard Edson
co-starring. Diehl and Edson previously worked in Wenders, "The End of
Violence" and "Million Dollar Hotel," respectively.

For Williams, the project furthers her foray into the indie world: Her
upcoming features include the Sundance standouts Miramax Films' "The Station
Agent" and Paramount Classics' "The United States of Leland." She is
currently shooting writer-helmer Dan Harris' "Imaginary Heroes."
