Did Joey piss you off in Season 2

I'm rewatching Season 2 and I couldn't believe how bitchy she became. All
the angst she went through to get Dawson, then she cheats on him, dumps him
claiming she wants space, then starts dating the guy she cheated on him
with.

Then, she has the nerve to get jealous when Jen starts legitimately helping
Dawson with his new movie. The old 'I don't want him, but nobody else will
either'.

I guess that's why I liked the Eve storyline so well. That definately threw
Joey through a loop.

Sorry for the rant. :)

What annoyed me about the handling of Season 2 is that it made no sense
for Joey to decide she needed space so quickly after landing Dawson. It
was kind of a ridiculous storyline in that I don't think there are many
15-year-olds who go through that kind of "I have to find out who I am
without you" identity crisis. I mean, how long had they actually been
going out before she decided she had to find herself? But then, you
can't have what was supposed to be the ideal couple find happiness near
the beginning of what turned out to be a six season run and remain happy
ever after. No drama there. The way the writers kept the tension going
was silly, however.

But she does want him. I think an undercurrent of the whole series was
that they expected they would end up together no matter what. Remember
the conversation they had at the end of the episode about Dawson's
birthday? (One of the best moments in the whole series: Andie and
Dawson getting drunk and "singin' the blues.")

I felt sorry for Joey in Season 3 even though I don't know what she
expected. She pretty much treated Dawson like dirt which made him kind
of dumb for continuing to want her.

:) Yeah, that was good. I especially liked the reaction a drunk Dawson
gave Abby. I liked the look on her face when she saw how out of character
he was. Shame there was no Abby-Dawson stuff.

Honestly, I don't know why he kept chasing after as well. I would have
stuck with Eve, knowing that it wasn't going to be a serious relationship,
but to just enjoy the ride. And I would have enjoyed the ride. ;)

Hmmm, don't know about the Eve part (for Dawson that, is). That was a
really peculiar plot development, so completely out of character as to
be unbelievable. (Okay, the whole show was unbelievable.) As for his
continuing to pine for Joey, that was part of the whole "soul mates"
thing, of course. And love is not always rational so no matter how she
treated him he was going to continue to want her. In fact, I thought
the speed with which he reconciled with Joey in Season 4 after the
summer of Pacey was the crazy part. Would they really have made up so
quickly after she ran off with Pacey just a few months before? Don't
think so. But I digress...
