Hmm...a thought... if you were to take Seasons 1-4 and throw in the
Mitch death episodes from season 5.. then put the series finale on the
end. Would you really miss anything? I don't think you'd lose any
continuity.

Though, my memory is not THAT good. I just didn't see any history from
seasons 5/6 visually or in the dialog that was present in the series
finale, other than that Mitch was dead and that Grams was sick.

None of the other characters had any attachment in the finale to
anything else from 5/6.

DC is one of those shows that just stayed around too long. It should have
ended right before everyone is about to go off to college.

If you ask me the show ended when KW left. Everything after than pretty
much sucked. KW was the one with the vision of how the show was supposed to
look. With his departure came the wandering storyline and declining
ratings.

No matter how long the show would have went on, I would have loved every second
of it. Yes, it trailed on and on and on, but I love the characters and
everything about it.

As well as Mitch dying, we can't forget about Dawson losing his virginity! Go
Dawson! FINALLY!
