Although a nice idea who's gonna pay when they can tape it off TBS
themselves. Even with it being in the middle, just wait till August and you
can get the rest.

Advertising pirated copies of a television show in a public forum
(especially at inflated prices) is not a very smart way to make money. All
it would take is for some to drop a tip at the FBI's secure tip web site at
https://tips.fbi.gov and post the full email and header information of your
post in order to bring the wratch of the DMCA down on you. It would be
terrible if someone mistook you for a someone trying to a make a quick
buck, rather than a true Dawson's Creek fan, and suspected that you might
also be selling these tapes on eBay such as the list at
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2938060153&category=317.

Are you aware of how much you might have to pay in fines and how much of a
prison sentence you could get if someone were to drop a tip like that
because they were a little angry that you spammed this newsgroup in order
to make some money?

I am not interested in the offer, since (1) I have no interest in seasons
4-6 (2) and I bought the first season DVD box set (3) I only buy DVD's, but
why is $25.00 per season an inflated price.

25.00 a season for a run of the mill off the tv video tape is inflated. I
could do the same thing off TBS and just charge the price of a tape..

Because this person is trying to make a profit off of someone else's
intellectual property. It's copyright infringement and its illegal.
Selling copies of the TV show isn't much different than selling copies of
the latest Microsoft product, a photocopied Stephen King book or copies of
the latest Britney Spears CD. If this person weren't trying to turn a
profit on it and it were like other discussions in which one person offers
to send a missed episode for the cost of the tape and shipping I wouldn't
have an issue with it.

The responder, "Anonymous Sender" (who may be you, for all I know), made a
particular point that the price was inflated. This was in addition to the
comments on copyright violations.

The implication was that the price was too high, regardless of the legality.
That is what I was questioning.
