What happend to these characters?

Hi,
I just watched the Season Two DVD set, and a couple of characters were
missing. It's been a long time since I watched Season One, so I can't
remember if it was explained.


What happened to Joey's sister's husband (or boyfriend)? And Pacey's gay
brother? Not a sign or word of them in season two.

I don't think they were explained necessarily, but just assumed to be
there in the background. Bodie and Deputy Doug both show up in season
three (Doug's a key player in trying to understand The Kiss).
